What EmailChat does

EmailChat is an email client that presents your inbox in a chat-style interface. When you connect Gmail or Microsoft 365, we access your mailbox only with your explicit OAuth consent to read messages and send mail when you choose to send.

Information we collect

• Account information: email address, display name, and authentication identifiers from Firebase Authentication.
• Email content: messages synced from your connected inbox (headers, body, participants) so we can display conversations and thread replies.
• OAuth tokens: encrypted access and refresh tokens for Gmail or Microsoft so we can sync and send on your behalf.
• Usage data: basic technical logs (errors, request metadata) needed to operate the service.

How we use your information

• Display and organize your email conversations in EmailChat.
• Send outbound messages when you explicitly compose and send.
• Maintain your account, inbox settings, and signatures.
• Protect the service against abuse and unauthorized access.

We do not sell your personal information or email content to third parties.

Google and Microsoft data

If you connect Gmail, we use Google OAuth scopes for read-only inbox access, sending mail, and reading your account email address. If you connect Microsoft 365, we use Microsoft Graph permissions for reading mail, sending mail, and identifying your account. You can revoke access at any time from your Google or Microsoft account security settings.

Data retention and security

Email data is stored in our application database while your account is active. OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest. We use industry-standard security practices, but no system is completely secure.

Your choices

• Disconnect Gmail or Microsoft from your Google/Microsoft account.
• Contact us to request account or data deletion.
